3 What personal data we collect and why we collect it
In the following, we explain what data is collected when you visit kinder-verstehen.de, what this data is used for and how you can delete the data or restrict its collection.
3.1 Server
To ensure data security, all packet traffic between the server and visitors is encrypted using SSL. This means that it is more difficult for unauthorized persons to read the data during transmission.
The website and all data are located on the servers of domainfactory GmbH in Strasbourg (France). It is necessary to record the user’s IP address in order to deliver the web pages. However, this is not logged: The server is configured so that no log files with personal data are created. We have concluded a contract with domainfactory for commissioned data processing, so that domainfactory is obliged to manage all data stored by us on its servers in compliance with data protection regulations.

The data collected helps us to optimize the website and detect errors.
All data collected is anonymized so that no personal reference can be made. In addition, no data is collected if the browser’s “Do Not Track” function is activated. The data collected is only used for the purpose of website optimization. The data collected is stored on our server and is not passed on to third parties.

3.5 VG-Wort cookies and reports on access figures
We use “session cookies” from Verwertungsgesellschaft Wort, Munich, to measure the number of hits on our texts. This enables VG Wort to determine the probability of copying and to distribute royalties to authors for texts on the Internet on this basis. These measurements are carried out by INFOnline GmbH using the Scalable Central Measurement Method (SZM). They help to determine the likelihood of individual texts being copied in order to remunerate the legal claims of authors and publishers.session cookies are small units of information that a provider stores in the working memory of the visitor’s computer. A randomly generated unique identification number, a so-called session ID, is stored in a session cookie. A cookie also contains information about its origin and the storage period. Session cookies cannot store any other data. VG-Wort does not collect any personal data via cookies.
More information on data protection and VG-Wort tracking pixels can be found here.
